Actor Headshots, post one! Lot of information for actors on their headshots will appear on this blog. Highly recommend you to add the link to your browser! Enjoy!!!
I grew up with the theatre being very much part of my life and I feel extremely lucky. My parents loved the theatre and they were keen on it becoming something my brother and I would both enjoy.
We went to see everything! It was the days of rep theatre companies. The Ipswich theatre would bring in a new cast of actors and they would stay for the whole season, so we really got to know them and it was fascinating to see how each would take on the next role. Also, as we always went for first night tickets we were able to enjoy the tradition of the cast coming into the threate bar and mixing with the audience after the show. It was a lot of fun!
The Ipswich Arts Theatre was an old Edwardian Theatre in the town centre, it was magical. We would squeez through the crowded box office in the entrance, take our tickets and head up to the bar! Ordered drinks for half time, of course! And … well … no wonder we were in a good mood!
(Don’t worry, I’ll talk actor headshots so much soon you’ll wish I was still talking about Ipswich Theatres!)
Ipswich grew and the Arts Theatre became too small, and we launched into fund raising for a brand new theatre. The Wolsey is a wonderful theatre. No more posts to peer around, a steep aisle and everyone could see. My parents were both on the Theatre Club Committee and my mum grew it to a huge 350 members!
Get back to talking Actor Heashots, Jenny!
12 years ago I was looking for a more creative career and I had always enjoyed photography, it was a natural, but challenging, progression into creating headshot images. There is nothing more satisfying for me than when an actor for whom I have created headshots gets a role that matches their preferred acting type.
That’s the edge for me, that’s why I go the extra mile to make sure every headshot counts!
Twelve years later and a LOT of actor headshots. I’m very proud to get the glowing reviews and it’s a great way of achieving job satisfaction.
Actor Headshots
This will form a series of posts that will introduce to you why I choose to be an actor headshot photographer. Later on I’ll get into what makes a great headshot and how I go about helping you to get the role you dream of.
